Gail A. Hahn
Bolivar- Gail A. Hahn of 76 Pleasant Street died Sunday (Feb. 14, 2010) following a brief illness.
Born July 27, 1918, in Bradford, Pa., she was a daughter of James L. and Ida Carson Andrews. On Oct. 23, 1944, in Bradford, she married Gordon R. Hahn, who predeceased her Jan. 17, 2003.
Mrs. Hahn was a graduate of Bradford High School class of 1936 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943 to 1945.
She had been a secretary at Bradford Supply Co.
Mrs. Hahn was a member of the Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church in Bolivar, St. Ann Guild and the church vestry, Kenyon Andrus American Legion Post 772 of Bolivar, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Bradford and the Little Genesee Garden Club. She was a supporter of the Bolivar Free Library, Bolivar Pioneer Oil Museum and various Native American organizations.
Surviving are two children, Martha H. Panzeca of New Orleans, La., and James A. Hahn of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Francesca I. Panzeca and Andrew H. Panzeca; and several nieces and nephews including Steve (Shirley) Foster of Bradford.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles David Hahn, on Aug. 11, 1977; and two sisters, Julia Thorsten and Blanche Foster.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar, on Wednesday from 5 to 7pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Feb. 18, 2010) at 11am in the Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church, Olean Street, Bolivar, with the Rev. Marian Schneider of the Allegany County Episcopal Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
