Charles H. Fritz
Bolivar, NY - Charles H. Fritz, 83, of 351 Main St., Bolivar, a former resident of Alden, passed away Saturday (Jan. 17, 2009) at the home of his daughter in Bolivar following a brief illness.
Born May 10, 1925, in Buffalo, he was a son of Clarence and Mary Nester Fritz. On Oct. 18, 1947, in Buffalo, he married the former Anna Lang, who predeceased him in 2003.
Mr. Fritz was a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
He was employed by Chudy Paper Co. of Buffalo as a truck driver for many years, retiring in 1994.
Mr. Fritz was a life member of Kenyon Andrus American Legion Post 772 of Bolivar and a member of the 4C's Senior Citizens Club of Bolivar.
Surviving are six children, Kenneth (Sun Nam "Annie") Fritz of Cheektowaga, Mary Anne Fritz of Vacaville, CA, Linda (Leroy) Brown of Moyock, NC, Patricia (Albert) Bauder of West Palm Beach, FL, Kathryn (Donald) Ross of Bolivar and Karen (Donald) Swinney of Albany; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Fritz; a nephew; and a grand-nephew.
Friends may call Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 from 7 to 9pm at the Schaffner funeral Home Inc., Bolivar, where funeral and committal services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 11am. Pastor Jonathan Greeson, youth pastor of Faith Bible Church in Little Genesee, will officiate.
