Grace I. Watkins
BOLIVAR, NY - Grace I. Watkins of 212 Olive St., passed away Thursday (Feb. 18, 2010) at the Wellsville Manor Health Care Center, Wellsville, following a lengthy illness.
Born June 13, 1934, in Sabinsville, PA, she was a daughter of Hugh and Hazel Manning Ives. On June 25, 1955, in Elkland, PA, she married James R. Watkins, who survives.
Mrs. Watkins was a graduate of Elkland Joint High School and Continental School of Beauty. She operated Grace's Beauty Shop in Bolivar for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Star of The East Chapter 109 Order of the Eastern Star in Bolivar.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Hugh (Nonie) Watkins of Rapid City, SD; three daughters, Rhonda (Richard) Roberts of Cuba and Debra Kloth of Jasksonville, FL, and Deborah Roe McDaniel of Middleburg, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Richard D. (Lee) Ives of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc., Bolivar. Funeral and committal services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010) at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
