Judith "Judy" A. Schneider


loving wife, mother and grandmother
   FRIENDSHIP, NY - Judith A. Schneider, 70, of 9 South St., Friendship, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010) at her home surrounded by her family after complications of renal failure.
    Born Aug. 17, 1939, in Olean, she was the daughter of Willard and Virginia (Mallory) Moser. On June 2, 1962, in the First Baptist Church of Friendship, she married Carl E. Schneider, who survives.
    Mrs. Schneider was a graduate of Richburg Central School, class of 1957, and later graduated from Rochester Business Institute with a medical secretarial degree.
    While her husband served in the military, she worked for Eastman Kodak of Rochester in its research labs. In 1962, she and her husband returned to Friendship to raise their family.
    Mrs. Schneider worked at the First Trust Union Bank, which later became Fleet Bank. She retired as an operations manager for Fleet Bank's Wellsville location in 1992 after 27 years of service.
    She was also a member of the Red Hats Society, a former member of the Duncan Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Friendship Free Library Board. She enjoyed traveling the lower 48 states with her husband, dining with friends, playing cards and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and watching tennis and football.
    Besides her husband, Mrs. Schneider is survived by two daughters, Terri Schneider of Syracuse, NY and Tracey (Phillip) Mitchell of Randolph, NY; two grandsons, Austin and Alex Mitchell; a sister, Phyllis (Robert) Covel of Canisteo, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Moser.
    Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, on Saturday (Feb. 27, 2010) from noon until 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Kirk Kirch, pastor of the United Church of Friendship, will officiate.
