Gregory D. DeHaven
BRADFORD- Gregory D. DeHaven, Sr., 54, of Bushnell St., formerly of Port Allegany, died Friday (Feb. 26, 2010) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born April 22, 1955, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Donald A. and Norma J. Grimes DeHaven.
Mr. DeHaven had been employed by Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, for 23 years, had worked in area oil fields, and had driven truck before his illness.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1973.
He was an avid outsdoorsman, enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Norma, of Port Allegany, are a daughter, Kari J. (Darren Bailey) DeHaven of Bradford; two sons, Daniel A. DeHaven and Gregory D. DeHaven, Jr. both of Bradford; three grandchildren: Emma C. Kurban, Kate-Lynn J. Bailey, and Jenya L. DeHaven all of Bradford; three sisters, Karen S. DeHaven, of Kodak, TN, Lisa D. DeHaven of Port Allegany, Paula J. DeHaven of Sevierville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. DeHaven, Feb. 2, 2010.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. Sunday (Feb. 28, 2010) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Roger Laktash, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to McKean County SPCA or a charity of the donor's choice.
