Eugene B. McFarland
beloved husband, father, grandfather
CUBA, NY - Eugene B. McFarland, of 1 Prospect St., and formerly of Lyman Road, West Clarksville, passed away Thursday (March 4, 2010) in Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on May 22, 1936, in Franklin, PA, he was a son of Eugene C. and Mary Giles McFarland. On Nov. 5, 1967, in West Seneca, he married the former Kathryn H. Weber, who survives.
Mr. McFarland served in the 63rd Military Police Platoon at Fort MacArthur, CA, from 1957 to 1960. He was a crane operator for Shango Steel in Lackawanna for many years before retiring and moving to the southern tier. He enjoyed everything that the outdoors could offer especially hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Eugene C. (Kathryn) McFarland of Cuba; daughter, Mary (John) Snyder of Bolivar; grandchildren, John Snyder and Alyssa Snyder, both of Bolivar, Emily McFarland and Amelia McFarland, both of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. McFarland's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services at this time.
