Ellen L. Cochran
beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
SMETHPORT, PA - Ellen L. Cochran, 75, formerly of Moody Hollow, Coryville, PA, died Friday (March 5, 2010) at the Lakeview Senior Care Center, Smethport, following a brief illness.
Born June 12, 1934, in Port Allegany, PA, she was a daughter of Stanley and Mildred Steelman Acre. On May 2, 1950, in Farmers Valley, PA, she married Clair D. Cochran, who passed away, Aug. 31, 2007.
Mrs. Cochran had attended Port Allegany Schools and resided in Farmers Valley, before moving to Moody Hollow in 1980. She owned and operated, along with her husband, the Valley Inn in Farmers Valley, for 10 years. She was a 25-year member of the Smethport American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards.
Surviving are daughter, Mary Ellen (Earl) Wilber of Farmers Valley; granddaughters, Cammy (Ron) McGhee and Dianna Billyard; step-grandsons, Timothy (Leiann) Wilber and Kristopher (Theresa) Wilber; great-grandson, Keith McGhee; sister Catherine Mathewson of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by son, Clair A. Cochran in 1972, and granddaughter, Mary Ellen Billyard in 1969.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, Sunday (March 7, 2010), from 1 to 3 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. James Owens officiating.
Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette, PA.
