Barbara S. Tilley
“beloved mother and grandmother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Barbara S. “Barb” Tilley, 61, of Shinglehouse, PA, died Friday, March 26, 2010 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born June 1, 1948 in Bolivar, NY, she was a daughter of Sidney L. and Wilma M. Goodnoe Winsor. On September 22, 1963 in Shinglehouse, she married George “Gene” Tilley, who died on March 29, 2008.
Mrs. Tilley was employed by Northern Lights Candle Company in Wellsville, NY and later was employed by her daughter and son-in-law at their restaurant in Shinglehouse. She was then employed as a waitress at Red’s and Trudy’s Restaurant in Portville, NY.
She attended the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are six children, Tracy L. Tilley of Aurora, Colorado, Steven E. (Susan) Tilley of Portville, NY, Howard J. (Donna) Tilley and Michael A. Tilley, both of Coudersport, Peggy S. (Michael) Mix and Paula A. (Joe) McChesney, both of Shinglehouse; twelve grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Edward W. (Carole) Lundy of Oswayo and Ronald L. (Sue) Winsor of Washburn, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tilley was predeceased by five brothers, Charles R. Lundy, Paul E. Lundy, Earl D. Lundy, Richard F. Lundy, and James S. Winsor; and three sisters, Patricia M. Winsor, Louise D. Turk and Linda A. Archible.
At Mrs. Tilley’s request, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
