Esther Sanderson

    DUKE CENTER, PA - Esther P. Sanderson, 86, of Grant Street, died Wednesday (May 12, 2010) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital following a brief illness.
    Born Sept. 10, 1923, in Duke Center, she was a daughter of Bert and Pearl J. Potter Sanderson.
    She was a 1942 graduate of Otto High School in Duke Center. A life-long resident of Grant Street, she had been employed for 42 years by W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co. in Bradford, retiring as an engraver in 1985.
    She was a former member of the Rixford Evangelical Church and she has attended the Eldred United Methodist Church. She loved reading and doing word puzzles and games.
    Surviving are a sister, Edith Bigler of Prentisvale; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Roscoe and Jack Sanderson.
    Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Frame Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (May 14, 2010) at the Eldred United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Heckman, pastor, and the Rev. Glenn Hamilton co-officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, N.Y.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Otto Ambulance Fund or the church of the donor's choice.
