Gerald Swift


RICHBURG, NY - Gerald R. Swift, 65, of 6778 Inavale Road died at home on Sunday (May 23, 2010) following a long illness.
    Born March 22, 1945, in Alexandria, LA, he was a son of Reed and Ruth Howison Swift. On June 12, 1998, in Richburg, he married Connie Shutt, who survives.
    Mr. Swift formerly resided in Portland, OR, Colorado Springs, CO, and Pomona, CA, before moving to the Richburg area in 1996.
    He was employed as a high-rise construction worker and later was a self-employed contractor.
    While out west, Mr. Swift enjoyed his membership in a barbershop quartet and was a member of the "World's Largest Marching Band."
    Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Reed (Maggie) Swift of Richburg, Eli (Lynette) Swift of Bolivar and Burton (Samantha) Densmore of Wellsville; two daughters, Francine Swift of Ontario, CA, and Kathy (Joe) Pineda of Chino, CA; 14 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, George (Anita) Swift and David (Dorothy) Swift; and a sister, Beverly (Wayne) Stencer; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Donald Swift.
    A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
