FRIENDSHIP - Margaret R. Ritter, 79, of 16 Stevens Ave., died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2009) at her home following a lengthly illness.
Born Sept.., 29, 1929, in Friendship, she was a daughter of Nicholas and Anna Romanelli Paoliello. On Oct. 15. 1949, in Friendship, she married William L. Ritter Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Ritter had resided all of her life in Friendship and was a 1947 graduate of Friendship Central School. Her main occupation was caring for and loving her family. She enjoyed cooking and camping.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, William L. (Rita) Ritter Jr., Stephen (Sharon) Ritter and Thomas A. Ritter, all of Friendship, a daughter, Cheryl Owens of Friendship; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother; Bernard Paoliello.
Friends may call at Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 7, 2009). The Rev. Marian Schneider of Allegany County Episcopal Ministry will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Friendship.
Memorials may be made to the Friendship American Legion Post 1168 Scholarship Fund.
