Donna L. Luce
loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
ELDRED, PA- Donna L. Luce, 76, of Main Street died Saturday (June 5, 2010) at her residence following a long illness.
Born April 26, 1934, in Corsica, she was a daughter of Clarence R. and Mary J. Aiken Fitzsimmons. On April 2, 1953, in Olean, N.Y., she married William H. Luce, who survives.
Mrs. Luce was a 1952 graduate of Eldred High School and was a lifelong resident of Eldred.
She had been employed as a clerk at Weston's Shoppers City, was later employed by AVX in Olean and for 20 years prior to her retirement had been employed as Eldred Borough secretary.
Mrs. Luce was a past member of the Eldred Fire Department Auxiliary. She loved reading and taking photographs of family and friends. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and Peanut.
Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Mary Soules of The Pavilion in Bradford; two daughters, Terri (Wayne) King and Kelli Luce, both of Eldred; four grandchildren, Tracie (Brian) Barber of Broadman, Ohio, Tammie (Arian Gross) DeYoe of Cuba, N.Y., Brandi Coscia of Eldred and Jami (Brian) Gariepy of Rochester, N.Y.; eight great-grandchildren, Dominick, Christopher and Anthony Barber, Michelle DeYoe, Addysin Gross, Kolby Coscia, Christian and Grace Gariepy; two brothers, Rodger (Shaila) Fitzsimmons of Florida and Tom (Sherry) Fitzsimmons of Fairfax, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a son, Ricky J. Luce, on July 1, 1996; a grandson, Bryan King, on Aug. 14, 1979; and a brother, Michael Fitzsimmons, on April 21, 1986.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, where funeral and committal services will be held Wednesday (June 9, 2010) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in St. Raphael Cemetery, Eldred.
