PORT ALLEGANY- Donna J. Caskey, 82, formerly of Port Allegany, died Sunday (Feb. 8. 2009) in Cole Manor, Coudersport.
Born January 25, 1927, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Elmer J. and Vera Doyle Crawford. On June 24, 1949, in Port Allegany, she married Clair C. Caskey, who died May 1, 1984.
Mrs. Caskey was a self-employed beautician for several years before her retirement.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1945.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany; a lifetime member of Women of the Moose, Port Allegany; former member of Order of Eastern Star, Myrtle Chapter, Port Allegany. She also loved to dance.
Surviving are a son, Gregory L. Caskey of West Virginia, five grandchildren, two great-grand-children, a sister, E. Ann (Robert) Thomas of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clair, a son, Scott, and a sister, Joan Anderson.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2009) in the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Portage Valley Cemetery, Wrights, PA.
Memorials can be made to the S.W. Smith Library, Port Area Ambulance Service, or the United Methodist Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
