Joseph A. Spino
formerly of Olean
THE VILLAGES, FL - Joseph A. Spino of 851 Westwind Way, The Villages, formerly of Olean and Buffalo, NY, passed away Thursday (June 10, 2010) after a lengthy illness.
Born March 17, 1947, in Olean, he was a son of the late Floyd and Jessie Rogers Spino. He married the former Catherine Washington, who survives.
Mr. Spino owned and operated WNY Buyers Group and he was also manager of Shawley Office Equipment.
He was a member and past president of the Hamburg Sunrise Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. Additionally, he was a past member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Williamsville, member of the Board of Directors of Matthewson McCarthy Baseball and a committeeman with the Amherst Republican Committee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Spino Jr. of Buffalo, and Brandon Spino of Las Vegas NV; five sisters, Lillian (Calvin) Smith of Eldred, PA, Mary Joanne Shine of Franklinville, Sandra (Leslie) Tarr of Olean, Patricia (Dennis) Titus of Salamanca, and Judith Ellison of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Alberta.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, Funeral services will be held Wednesday (June 16, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Father Gregory Dobson will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
In addition, a memorial service will be held Thursday, June 17, at 5 p.m. at the Church of Ascension, 16 Linwood Ave., Buffalo, NY.
