Helen A. Clement
formerly of Franklinville
FRANKLINVILLE, NY - Helen A. Clement, formerly of Pine Street, died Sunday (June 13, 2010) in Cuba Memorial Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Born Nov. 12, 1914, in Warsaw, she was a daughter of Edwin and Maude Davis Truscott. On Dec. 14, 1943, in Franklinville, she married Harold D. Clement, who died Sept. 21, 1998.
Mrs. Clement was a 1933 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville. She was employed by Jim Pierce law office in Franklinville from 1934 to 1940 and by Union National Bank of Franklinville from 1940 to 1943.
She was a former member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Franklinville. She enjoyed music, played the piano and organ for many years and she enjoyed flowers.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Erin (Oakley) Sortore of Friendship; a grandson, Derek (Vanessa) Clement of Cuba, six great-grandchildren, Kristen, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Madelyn Sortore, Andrew and Austin Clement; a sister, Elizabeth Rogers of Franklinville; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Clement of Cuba; and three nieces, Barbara Grossman, Kay Jewett and Gail Rogers, all of Franklinville.
She was predeceased by a son, H. Jan Clement, with whom she made her home for several years; and a sister, June Bennett.
Friends may gather with the family at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville, on Friday (June 18, 2010) from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Sonya "Sunny" Mauser, pastor of the Cuba United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville.
