Edward C. 'Eddy' Schurr
FRIENDSHIP- Edward C. "Eddy" Schurr, 40, of 3911 Feaster Road died Monday (June 14, 2010) at Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 9, 1969, in Cuba, he was a son of Kenneth G. and Joan B. Salzman Schurr.
Eddy had lived most of his life in Friendship and areas of Texas. He was a 1989 graduate of Friendship Central School and shortly after graduation moved to Pearland, Texas, where for many years he did refractory contract work for various firms. A short while ago, Eddy retired due to ill health and returned to Friendship.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and barbecuing. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, four-wheeling and was a NASCAR fan. He had attended the Daytona 500 Bikers convention.
Surviving are his mother of Friendship; two sons, Justin Schurr and Paul Edward Schurr, both of Texas; two brothers Kenneth G. (Kim) Schurr of Cuba and Walter J. (Patricia) Schurr of Friendship; three sister, Barbara G. (Greg) Hovey of Belmont, Joan M. Vandewalker of Cuba and Kay L. (Warren) Jameson of Seabrook, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship, on Friday (June 18, 2010) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Kirk Kirch, pastor of the United Church of Friendship, will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
