Shirley Eck Cox

OLEAN, NY - Shirley Eck Cox, formerly of Martha Avenue, passed away Wednesday (June 16, 2010) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville after a long illness.
Born Jan. 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Eva Cooke Eck.
A resident of Olean since 1952, she was formerly of Port Allegany and Wellsville.
She worked at the former Paul's Steak House for many years and attended the Olean Revival Center.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert D. (Karen) Cox Jr. of Alma, Donald A. (Sherry) Cox of Cuba, and Steven D. (Virginia) Cox Sr. of Little Genesee; three daughters, Constance A. (Timothy) Lemon of Olean, Diane L. Pringle of French Creek, WV, and Linda E. (Thomas) Eastman of Kane, PA; a brother, Robert Franklin Eck of Wellsville; two half brothers, Clyde Eck of Wellsville and Leland (Shirley) Allen of Olean, two stepsisters, Jane Johnson of Coudersport and Lola (Lester) Cline of Wellsville; a stepbrother, Dick (Sally) Allen of Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Donald Cox Jr.; a sister, Lillian Allen; two brothers, Clifton and Gordon Eck; a stepsister, Bonnie Wheeler; two stepbrothers, Earl and Milan Bailey; a stepmother, Lois Eck; and a stepfather, Harry Allen.
Family will receive friends Friday (June 18, 2010) at the Olean Revival Center, 146 N. 13th St., Olean, from 2 to 3 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Pastor Ronald Frazier will officiate.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
