Frances Elizabeth Mulvihill
CROSBY, PA- Frances Elizabeth Mulvihill, 92, of Crosby, PA died Friday (Feb. 6, 2009).
She was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Crosby, a daughter of Michael F. and Grace E Curran McKeirnan. On Jan. 25, 1941, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, she married Lloyd E. Mulvihill, who died Feb. 10, 1987.
Mrs. Mulvilhill was a graduate of Colegrove High School and a graduate of Westbrook Academy in Olean, NY. She was an executive secretary, employed by the McKean County Sheriff's Department. She retired in 1981 after many years of devoted service.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport, St. Elizabeth Women's Club, the Catholic Daughters of America, the American Legion John Berg Post 979 Auxiliary of Crosby for over 50 years and the Norwich Township Fire Department Auxiliary.
She was devoted to her faith, her church, family and friends. She loved to play cards, bingo, and traveling. She also enjoyed crafts, ceramics and framing creative scenes with dried flowers.
She is survived by a son, Michael L. Mulvilhill of Bradford; a brother, Mickey McKeirnan of Emporium and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Putnam and Nan Tessena; four brothers, John, Robert, Joe and Bill McKeirnan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. The Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Feb. 9, 2009), in St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport with the Rev. Samuel B. Slocum as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Smethport.
Memorials, of desired, may be made to St. Elizabeth Church Building Fund.
