Edna A. Eaton
“longtime Roulette, PA resident”
Coudersport, PA---Edna Alice Tucker Eaton, 80, of Coudersport, formerly of Roulette, died surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born April 9, 1930 in Roulette, she was a daughter of Frank C. and Grace U. Harris Tucker. On May 19, 1951 in Genesee, she married Elwyn D. Eaton, who died on October 28, 1989.
Mrs. Eaton attended the Roulette Country School.
She was a longtime resident of Roulette and for a period of 8 years had lived in Millport with her daughter and son-in-law, Millie and John Dailey.
She was a member of the Sweden Valley Manor Red Hat Ladies. Mrs. Eaton loved to bake not only for her family and friends, but also for area bake sales. Before her illness, she loved to help others. She enjoyed family camping trips and early morning fishing with her husband. Family was always the center of her life. She treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Raymond E. (Debra) Eaton of Port Allegany; two daughters, Millie F. (John) Dailey of Millport and Zelma M. (Steve) Lehman of Ulysses; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fern Griffith of Emporium, Lois (George) Grossman of Roulette, and Gladys Howard of Shinglehouse; a brother, Bert Tucker of Roulette; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Eaton was predeceased by three sisters, Mildred Griffith, Betty Lent, and Marian Smith; and five brothers, James Tucker, Donald Tucker, Robert Tucker, Keith William Tucker, and Paul "Boots" Tucker.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 with Pastor Michael C. Reeves of the North Eulalia Baptist Church, Coudersport, and the Rev. Brad Miller, pastor of the Ulysses Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery, Roulette.
