Theresa F. Plummer Tyler
FRIENDSHIP, NY - Theresa F. Plummer Tyler, 91, formerly of 38 E. Main St., died Friday (June 26, 2010) at Wellsville Manor nursing home following a long illness.
Born March 16, 1919, in Rock Glen, she was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Fili Palermo. In 1946, in Smethport, PA, she married Ralph Plummer Sr., who died May 18, 1984. In 1997, in Belfast she married Arthur Tyler, who died in 1997.
Theresa had resided for most of her life in the Friendship area and had attended the Rock Glen Rural School District. For many years, she cooked at private residences in the Bradford, PA, area and owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband on the Friendship-Belvidere Road. For 15 years, she was employed at the Friendship Dairies, retiring in 1984.
She loved to cook, play bingo, work with ceramics, wath WWE wrestling and watch Chuck Norris
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Friendship, Ladies Auxiliary of the Friendship American Legion Post #1168, and Friendship Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are two sons, John (Mary) Plummer of Belmont and Ralph (Linda) Plummer Jr. of Cheifland, FL; three daughters, Joan (Paul) Masten Tyler of Belfast, Marolyn (Jim) Smith of Freedom and Beverly (Tim) Trowbridge of Avoca; many step-children; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Harden of Rochester Hills, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Palermo and Angelo Palermo; and a sister, Jennie Palermo.
Friends may call Monday (June 28, 2010), at the Truesdell Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when funeral and committal services will be held immediately afterward. The Rev. Charlie Little, pastor of the Oramel UICC Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Wellsville Manor special fund.
