Raymond Verne Baldwin


FRIENDSHIP, NY - Raymond Verne Baldwin of 3310 Burdick Road, passed away Friday (June 25, 2010) at home following a lengthy illness.
    Born Dec. 13, 1945, in Wellsville, he was a son of Verne A. and Catherine Skinner Baldwin.
    Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Richburg Central School class of 1965. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was employed by Dresser-Rand Co., Olean, as a machinist from 1969 to 2007.
    He was a member of Friendship American Legion Post 1168, United Steel Worker Union Local 1461, Olean, and active with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
    Surviving are two children, Raymond (Erin) Baldwin of Bolivar, Kimberly (Don) Fanton of Bolivar; mother, Catherine "Betty" Baldwin of Wellsville; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol (Ron) Kuszaj of Phoenix, NY, Debra (Robert) Sherwood of Bolivar.
    He was preceded in death by his father Verne A. Baldwin; one brother, Edward Baldwin; and two nephews, Dustin M. Sherwood and Ronald P. Kuszaj.
    Private family visitation and funeral services will be held at the Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc., Bolivar, Monday (June 28, 2010). The Rev. Stanley Schoville, pastor of the Bolivar United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
    Memorials to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
