Sandra K. Hitchcock,
loving mother, grandmother and sister
ALLEGANY, NY - Sandra K. Hitchcock of 3996 Route 417 passed away Monday (Aug. 2, 2010) at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo after a brief illness.
Born March 14, 1947, in Olean, she was a daughter of the late John and Ella Johnson Swetland. On May 26, 1973, in Florida, she married Edward L. Hitchcock, who passed away May 17, 1997.
Sandra was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1965, and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Olean.
She was employed by Olean Advanced Products and was a board member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1690.
Sandra was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Swetland of Highlands, N.J.; a stepdaughter, Yvette Marie (Richard) Jordan of Portville; a grandson, Jack Swetland; two step-grandchildren, Alexis Jordan and Bryce Jordan; a sister, Judy Swetland (Dan) Lepadatu of Houston, Texas; many nieces and nephews; and many brothers-and-sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, where funeral and committal services will be held Thursday (Aug. 5, 2010) at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Reichman will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice for any local cause.
