Eleanor M. Fremming

INVERNESS, FL - Eleanor M. "Ellie" Fremming, 88, of East Cove passed away Saturday (Aug. 7, 2010) at Citrus Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. Eleanor's family was with her during her final hours.
Born Jan. 13, 1922, in Olean, NY, she was the oldest daughter of Harry and Louise Bates Flagg. She was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1939.
Mrs. Fremming and her husband, Frank "Mel" Fremming, owned and operated The Hot Shoppe drive-in/diner in Westons Mills, NY, and the Pinewood Diner in Portville, NY. They moved to Largo in 1957 and established Largo Lanes Bowling Center. Upon moving to Citrus County from Largo in 1975, they opened the Fisherman's Cove Restaurant in East Inverness, where they continued to work until their retirement.
Surviving are three daughters, Lynn (Larry) Brooks of Hernando, Lori Hall and Lisa (Brian) Reese, both of Inverness; and a sister, Donna Geise of Olean.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Frank, who died in 2005, she was predeceased by a sister, Harriet Speaker of Bradford, PA.
There will be no visitation or service. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, at a later date.
