Rosalie A. Burton
loving wife, mother and grandmother
PORTVILLE, NY - Rosalie A. Burton of 459 Highland Terrace passed away Thursday (Oct. 7, 2010) at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital, Buffalo, surround by her family after a brief illness.
Born April 10, 1941, in Olean, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Ruth Thompson Nudd. On April 16, 1960, in Olean, she married Harold "Russ" Burton, who survives.
She attended Olean High School and worked at Home Health Care of Cattaraugus County, St. Joseph's Manor, Weston's Shopper City and the Portville Park & Shop Service Store.
Rosalie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Portville. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and visiting family and friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving besides her husband of 50 years are two daughters, Lisa (Greg) Reed of Portville and Lori (Jeff Woods) Tyler of Olean; three granddaughters, Randi (Brian) Phearsdorf of Olean, Tia (Geoff Wilson) Tyler of Olean and Alexis Burton of Portville; three grandsons, Daniel Cowell Jr. of Ceres, Joshua Tyler of Olean and Paul "P.J." Tyler of Olean; six great-grandchildren, Savannah Chiapuso, Hayden and Zandon Tyler, Isabelle and Gabriella Phearsdorf, Zaeleigh Wilson and another great-grandchild due in November; a sister, Carol (Donald) Clayson of Olean; a brother, Daniel (Nadine) Nudd of Cuba and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St., Portville. Funeral services will be held Monday (Oct. 11, 2010) at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Portville.
The Rev. Marilyn Hale, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
