Delores V. Wilson
“beloved mother & grandmother”
Coudersport, PA---Delores V. Wilson, 87, of Coudersport, PA, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit, Coudersport, PA, after a long illness.
Born March 23, 1921 in Sweden Valley, PA, she was a daughter of Clayton D. and Florence Ruth Harding Gilbert. On October 2, 1942, she married James E. Wilson, who died on May 28, 1996.
Mrs. Wilson attended school in Sweden Valley and Ulysses. She was a lifelong resident of Coudersport.
She was a member of the North Eulalia Baptist Church and attended the Hebron Union Church. She was a member of the former Hebron Grange. She loved to read. A very artistic person, Mrs. Wilson loved to do ceramics, paint, and draw. She loved her animals. She was a loving and giving woman, always putting others ahead of herself.
Surviving are four sons: James A. (Bonnie) Wilson of Wellsville, NY, Thomas E. (Ruth) Wilson, Jack W. (Sharon) Wilson, and Jess J. (Patty) Wilson, all of Coudersport, PA; fourteen grandchildren, including Chad W. (Joanna) Wilson of Greenwood, NY, whom Mrs. Wilson raised; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Dr. Mike Bagwell of Cummings, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Bagwell who died on January 21, 2009; and two brothers, Ronald Gilbert and Cleon Gilbert.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 10 a.m. to noon with funeral services following at noon. The Rev. Howard R. Burnham, pastor of Hebron Union Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Hebron, PA.
