Marion M. Wiedemann
loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
LITTLE GENESEE, NY - Marion M. Wiedemann of Little Genesee passed away Monday (Feb. 14, 2011) at Cuba Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born April 2, 1924, in Sardinia, she was a daughter of the late Hayden and Emogene Hopkins Ellis. On Oct. 2, 1943, in Springville, she married Vern "Bub" Wiedemann, who passed away July 7, 1992.
Marion worked at Robinson Knife Co. in Springville for five years and during World War II was a waitress at Traveler's Restaurant in Springville.
She enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing with her husband.
Surviving are a son, Dale (Tammy) Wiedemann of Friendship; a daughter, Paula Ellsworth of Duke Center, PA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ardean Day of Arcade, Lois Kittleson of Sardinia and June McArthur of Holland, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Jean Keller.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. A private graveside service will be held in Sardinia Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
