Clifford L. Cleveland
OLEAN, NY – Clifford L. Cleveland of 320 S. Union St. went to be with his Heavenly family Saturday (April 9, 2011) at his brother Doyle's house in Roulette, Pa., following a short battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 7, 1953, in Olean, he was a son of Edward and Ruth May Cole Cleveland.
He attended Allegany Central School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1971 to 1972. He was employed at Eagles Window Cleaners, Stride Tools of Salamanca, the former Bowlean bowling alley in Olean and the Portville Drive-in.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with his van and he loved to drink coffee. He was known for saying "what are you doing in there."
He is survived by his children, Ricky (Erin) Spring, Kathy Spring and Erin Cleveland; six grandchildren Konnor, Arthur James, Brittany, Hunter, Raqual Adams and Renee Handmore; five sisters, Marion (Sonny) Black of Liverpool, Deborah and Carol Cleveland of Arkport, Sharon (Phil) Hainigan of Olean and Kerri Jordan of Olean; four brothers Edward (Beverly) Cleveland of Allegany, George (Ginger) Cleveland of Olean, Jack (Becky) Cleveland of Olean and Doyle (Denise) Cleveland of Roulette, Pa.; his Tuttle Fruity nieces, Brenda and Linda; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces, nephews, whom he truly loved.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1982; his father in 1983; and three sisters, Grace L. Gates, Velma L. Mitchell and Ethyl May Gates.
Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday (April 15, 2011) at the Olean American Legion on East State Street for a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ricky Spring, 217 N. Fifth St., Olean, NY, 14760.
Funeral arrangements are under the directions of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home.
