Amy Belle Sherry
BRADFORD, PA- Amy Belle Sherry, formerly of 86 State St., Bradford, passed away in Georgia on Monday (May 30, 2011) at the age of 98.
She was born March 27, 1913, a daughter of Simon and Ida Reed Himes of the Summerville, Pa., area. She had resided in Bradford for many years with her husband, Lewis D. Sherry, who passed away in 1991.
Amy and Lewie also lived in the Duke Center area for many years.
At the age of 95, she moved to Eatonton, Ga., to live with her daughter, Evelyn Sherry Hawkins.
Amy was what one might call a "flower girl." She loved to plant and nurture flowers.
Surviving besides her daughter of Georgia are five sons, Frank Sherry of Cuba, N.Y., Ken Sherry of Olean, N.Y., Roger "Bud" Sherry of Agawam, Mass., Dan Sherry of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Paul Sherry of St. Marys, Pa.; as well as 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren living in various areas of the U.S.
Mrs. Sherry will be cremated and her remains will be placed with her husband in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred, at a date and time to be announced. The Rev. Dorothy Kunselman will officiate.
