Leah J. Karuch
Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother
Olean- Leah J. Karuch of First Avenue passed away Wednesday (March 18, 2009) in Golf Shores, Ala.
Born Oct. 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth Archibald. She was married to Charles J. Karuch for 60 years, who predeceased her Nov. 23, 2008.
Mrs. Karuch was a graduate of Portville Central School, class of 1947. She was employed at Time Warner Cable, retiring in 1990, a member of St. John's Church and previously played in the Birch Run Ladies Golf League.
She is survived by two sons, C. Michael Karuch and John (Mary Ellen) Karuch, both of Olean; three daughters, Peggy (Pete) Wallen of Olean, Shelly (Mark) Folland of Hinsdale and Sharon (Horton) Bateman of Golf Shores, Ala.; grandchildren, Dr. Brett (Dr. Jennifer) Wallen of Parker, Colo., Matthew (Dr. Jillian) Wallen, Baltimore, Md., Betsy (Matt) Donnelly of Twinsburg, Ohio, Bradley Karuch of Atlanta, Ga., Jason Folland, Brian Folland, Brandon Folland and Patrick Folland, all of Hinsdale, William Bateman and Leah Bateman, both of Golf Shores, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Brady Wallen of Colorado, Liam and Brendan Donnelly of Ohio and a sister, Marion Jennings of Richburg.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter, Meghan Karuch and three brothers, James Archibald, Don Archibald and George Archibald.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
