Monica M. (Sallly) Rasmusson
BOLIVAR- Monica M. "Sally" Rasmusson, 80, formerly of 124 Wellsville St., passed away Wednesday (March 18, 2009) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1929, in Wellsville, she was a daughter of William and Margaret Padden Baldwin. On Jan. 26, 1952, in Wellsville, she married Wayne J. Rasmusson, who predeceased her Feb. 3, 1994.
Mrs. Rasmusson was a graduate of Wellsville High School and had been employed by the former Clark Bros. Co. in Olean.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and its Altar & Rosary Society and Kenyon Andrus American Legion Post 772 Auxiliary of Bolivar. She enjoyed growing house plants, religious activities and being with family.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Rasmusson of Bolivar and Wayne (Diane) Rasmusson of Laveen, AZ; six grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Irma) Baldwin of Olean, three sisters, Margaret Booth of Olean, Theresa Crandall of Plantation FL, and Rosemary Guineau of Jaffrey, NH; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Linda and Carol Loucks.
She was predeceased by two daughters, infant Mary Rasmusson and Theresa Paffie, who died in 1990.
Private family visitation will be held Sunday in the Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc., Bolivar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (March 23, 2009) at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Bolivar, with Father Patrick O'Keefe as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wellsville.
