Cheryl F. Strait
loving wife, mother and grandmother
BULLIS MILLS, PA - Cheryl F. Strait, 63, of Bullis Mills passed away Sunday (Aug. 28, 2011) at Olean, N.Y. General Hospital following a long illness.
Born Sept. 9, 1947, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of Charles and Vanda Rae Coleman Terry. On Oct. 12, 1974, in Bradford, she married Garry E. Strait, who survives.
Cheryl was a 1966 graduate of Towson (Md.) High School and had resided in Baltimore before moving to Bradford in 1968.
From 1975 to 1992, she traveled around the world with her husband, who was in the military.
Mrs. Strait was a past member of the fire police in Rew and an EMT with Hilltop volunteer fire departments. She was a member of bowling leagues while in the military, and she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and watching TV.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, John (Sally) Strait of Rouseville and William Strait of Eldred; two daughters, Kim (Shawn) Kruth of Aliquippa and Teresa (Percy) Doner of Eldred; eight grandchildren; a brother, Mark Terry of Baltimore; two sisters, Pam Terry of Baltimore and Jane Terry of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Diane Burns, in 2009.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, on Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2011) from noon to 2 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Glenn Hamilton, pastor emeritus of the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church in Prentisvale, will officiate.
