Peggy Jean Work
SMETHPORT, PA - Peggy Jean Work, 83, of Smethport died Monday (March 30, 2009) at Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport.
Born April 15, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Margaret Mary Abel Davis. On Feb. 21, 1943, in Camp McCoy, WS, she married Delmar L. Work, Sr., who died Feb. 19, 1995.
Mrs. Work was employed in the cafeteria at Smethport High School, then in food service at the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean, NY. She ultimately worked at Olean Home Healthcare until her retirement.
She was a member of the former Rebekah Lodge of Smethport.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Stone of Lenhartsville and Deborah Mott of Smethport, a son, Delmar Work Jr. of Cyclone; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held Thursday (April 2, 2009) at 11 a.m. The Rev. Wilbur Barber will officiate.
